Not the best strategy, because imperfect hygiene and inattention to the condition of the teeth threaten not only with caries, excruciating pain, and serious expenses but also with much more serious consequences affecting the entire body as a whole.

A heart attack, a crooked spine, hormonal imbalances in the body are serious problems, aren’t they? And they may well arise if you do not pay attention to the condition of the teeth and oral cavity.

Heart attack and stroke

If daily oral hygiene, especially tooth brushing, is not carried out thoroughly enough, then plaque accumulates on the teeth rather quickly, which gradually turns into tartar. These are hard deposits that a toothbrush can no longer handle and require only professional cleaning.

Often tartar can be seen – it looks like dark growths. But it happens that the stone is deposited below the gum line, and it is simply impossible to notice it. The microflora of the oral cavity is disturbed, caries and periodontitis are actively developing, bad breath appears, gums bleed, and so on – in general, there is little pleasant.

Tartar compresses the soft tissues around the gums. This violates the overall immunity of the body, and in addition, causes an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Yes, bad brushing can cause a heart attack – and that’s not a figure of speech! Taiwanese and Swedish scientists conducted studies that convincingly proved the connection between dental health and cardiovascular health. They found that inflammation of the gums often leads to heart diseases, such as heart attacks and strokes. If oral hygiene is insufficient or incorrect, then one after another there are areas with inflammation, and this gradually increases the risk of interruptions in the work of the heart. If tartar is present on 20 or more teeth, the risk of a heart attack increases by 53%!

Similar results were obtained by Japanese scientists: they found that hygiene and heart health are connected. People who brushed their teeth less than twice a day were three times more likely to have strokes, heart attacks, and other cardiovascular problems.

Sinusitis, otitis and chronic tonsillitis

Brushing your teeth, regular visits to the dentist, and the use of dental floss, and an irrigator are now included in the list of mandatory oral care procedures. But until now, many have not heard anything about irrigators and questioned the need for periodic professional cleaning.

As already mentioned, unsatisfactory care entails a change, an imbalance in the microflora of the oral cavity – some bacteria become smaller, and others, on the contrary, multiply in incredible quantities. The consequence of such changes can be chronic tonsillitis, tonsillitis, otitis, and sinusitis. The fact is that these diseases are caused by bacteria. And bacteria, in turn, are very fond of multiplying on uncleaned teeth and inflamed gums.

By the way, tartar is “perfectly formed” in those who prefer coffee on the run and quick snacks on carbohydrate foods. No matter how busy the work schedule is, you still need to try to set aside time for a full meal with vegetable salad and soup.

Hormonal problems and digestive disorders

If there are no teeth, then there is nothing to chew on. There is nothing to chew – the process of digestion is disturbed, and diseases of the gastrointestinal tract occur. This logic is true even if you are missing one or two teeth. After all, each tooth performs its function, it is not just “invented by nature” (however, this does not apply to wisdom teeth). And if for some reason the teeth had to be removed – for example, due to the fact that they turned to the doctor too late and it was not possible to save the tooth, an implant must be placed.

The absence of teeth can provoke inflammation of the gums, and deterioration of the condition of the remaining teeth because they have to work with increased stress and for those teeth that are missing. This will certainly affect the quality of chewing food in a negative direction. Then there may be problems with the stomach and intestines, and disturbances in the metabolic system, which often results in a hormonal imbalance.

Headaches, scoliosis, constant fatigue

If the bite is incorrect (experts say it is non-physiological), then there may also be problems associated with disruption of the gastrointestinal tract. In addition, if the jaws are not properly closed, a situation may arise when you intuitively want to close your jaws – just to make it more comfortable to chew. The balanced position of the head relative to the body changes, the load on the neck muscles increases, the spine is bent, the posture is disturbed, and the gait changes. Diseases of the musculoskeletal system arise and develop, and headaches often bother. Plus, “little things” can manifest such consequences as a change in the shape of the face (not for the better, of course), the inability to walk even on low heels, fatigue
