SHOWHIDE EXCEL COLUMNS AND ROWS WITH KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS (1)

Surely most Excel users know the function to hide columns or rows. This can be quite practical because the content of these cells is no longer visible and the user still has the option of making the content visible again at any time by showing it.

SHOW OR HIDE A COLUMN OR ROW WITH A KEYSTROKE

There is a very simple key combination in Excel with which you can quickly and easily hide or show a column, multiple columns, a row, or multiple rows. The easiest way to see how this works is in the following figure.

For example, if you now select column B and press Ctrl + “8”, then the entire B column is automatically hidden. If you mark lines 5+6 and press Ctrl + “9”, the two marked lines will be hidden. We have done both in our example and you can see that the column and the rows are only indicated by 2 adjacent dashes.

To show the column again, you have to mark columns A+C and press CTRL+Shift+8. Lines 4 and 7 are to be marked and the key combination CTRL+Shift+9 pressed to show the lines again.

In this way, you can easily hide or show columns or rows in Excel with these two key combinations. If you know similarly useful key combinations in Excel, we would be very happy to receive a comment at the end of this article.
