EXPERT OPINION HOW TO PROPERLY TAKE CARE OF WOMEN'S HEALTH (1)

Anna Polosenko, an obstetrician-gynecologist at the ICSI Clinic reproductive health clinic, tells about how modern women can take care of themselves and their health.

What is she, today’s woman? Phoenix Bird with a multi-tasking set of professional, mundane, maternal, marital, and many other tasks and responsibilities. Every day she burns out in the daily host of worries, so that in the morning, thanks to coffee, she will rise again from the ashes and go along the usual route of her business.

Everyone knows that the human body, as a complex mechanism, wears out over time, requires care, repair, and rest. They know. But they forget that any problem is easier to prevent than to solve.

First of all, a regular annual check-up is necessary – this is not a waste of time, but an important investment in your future health.
I advise you to undergo an extended complex, which includes the following diagnostic methods:

  • Ultrasound of the pelvic organs;
  • Ultrasound of the mammary glands;
  • Ultrasound of the thyroid gland (with the delivery of hormones);
  • colposcopy (examination of the cervix);
  • collection of certain laboratory tests (analysis of secretions and cytology).

Based on the results of these tests, the gynecologist and the woman will understand the state of her health.

Nutrition

Also, do not forget about your diet, which should suit you as much as possible and satisfy your needs, since nutrition greatly affects the state of the body as a whole.

“We are what we eat,” Hippocrates once said. In his opinion, many human diseases are the result of malnutrition.

And a woman, as the beautiful half of humanity, should know like no one else: external beauty depends on internal health! And looking into the refrigerator before going to bed, it is advisable to remember that there are food-friends, and there are food-enemies.

Therefore, be friends with cabbage, get along with berries, be friends with fish, do not forget about eggs, be on friendly terms with cottage cheese and sour-milk products, keep company with all nuts, respect greens and, forgive me, men, favor garlic – an implacable enemy of female inflammatory diseases. diseases!

Hormones

An equally important point in assessing women’s health is the hormonal background.

There are many hormones, but there are especially important for women’s health

  • FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) is produced in the pituitary gland, promotes the formation and maturation of eggs. Participates in the formation of the follicle. It is its maximum level that leads to ovulation. The test for the level of FSH is one of the main ones for detecting pathologies of the reproductive system in women.
  • LH (luteinizing hormone) also “originates” in the pituitary gland and stimulates the production of progesterone, ensuring ovulation and the formation of the corpus luteum. Keep an eye on it: its high level is a harbinger of premature menopause.
  • Progesterone is a unique “development” of the female body. Synthesized in the ovaries, adrenal cortex. Its main task is the regulation of the menstrual cycle. It prepares the endometrium for the attachment of the egg, maintaining the pregnancy.
  • Estradiol is a beauty hormone. It is he who forms the secondary sexual characteristics, rounded shapes of the figure, is responsible for the soft timbre of the voice and delicate skin, while simultaneously participating in the regulation of the menstrual cycle and maintaining a good mood and libido.
  • Testosterone (yes, that’s it!) plays an important role in a woman’s reproductive health by participating in the formation of the ovarian follicle. It is about him that one can say “a little too much, it’s not healthy”: an increase in its level can lead to menstrual irregularities, the appearance of facial hair, acne, and seborrheic dermatitis.
  • AMH (anti-mullerian hormone) is responsible for the ovarian reserve of the ovaries – for the female treasury of eggs. The chances of successful conception depend on it. Most often, the hormone is elevated in polycystic ovary syndrome, infertility, and ovarian tumors.
  • Prolactin also ensures the proper functioning of the reproductive system. An increase in its level is one of the common causes of infertility.
  • Thyroid-stimulating hormone helps maintain normal weight and stay lean.

Stress

On average, women are more stressed than men. But thanks to our little helpers – estrogens produced by the female body, we cope with difficult situations with greater ease and endurance.

We cope! But stress also has a detrimental effect on our body, reminding us of itself for a long time with headaches and nausea, chronic fatigue and hair loss, decreased libido, menstrual irregularities, and frequent urge to urinate. Furthermore – a violation of the hormonal background, panic attacks, disturbances in the functioning of the immune system, and, as a result, a greater predisposition to the appearance of many complex diseases.

How to fight? Consume vitamins A, C, and E, which contain a large number of free radicals; love your body and give it annual examinations: any fire is easier to prevent than to extinguish it later! Negative has accumulated – go to a psychologist, this is normal!

Finally learn not to take unpleasant situations to heart and enjoy small daily joys – go in for sports, have sex, allow yourself a glass of red dry after a hard day! And smile: stress does not like when they do not obey it 🙂

Trust your gynecologist. Take care not only of your physical condition but also of your mental state. So many motivating programs, courses that will help you unlock your potential. Make time for yourself! Listen to your body! Talk to yourself! A healthy woman is a happy woman!
