There is intrinsic or biological aging that is inevitable and genetically determined, and on which we cannot act.

There is intrinsic or biological aging that is inevitable and genetically determined, and on which we cannot act, but there is another extrinsic one that can be accelerated by certain environmental factors, such as UV rays, and on which we can intervene.

How? ”The body manufactures, through enzymes and proteins, endogenous antioxidants to be able to neutralize the oxidative stress to which the sun subjects us. But, UV rays deplete our reserves, in addition to weakening and fragmenting the collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid that we naturally produce,” warns aesthetic doctor Paula Rosso.

Precisely, our beauty and skin health depend, to a large extent, on the reserves of antioxidants, collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid that we have to face. How can we replenish these substances?

MINIMALLY INVASIVE INFILTRATIONS: TEOXANE REDENSIFICATION

“It is a treatment for the correction and prevention of skin aging that activates the functions of skin cells, providing an improvement in texture, luminosity, elasticity, and hydration,” describes the general surgeon and aesthetic doctor María Vicente.

It is performed by means of microinjections or fan infiltrations between the superficial dermis and the intermediate dermis. Teoxane has a high molecular weight, and non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid, which is practically the same as that generated by our body.

”The Teoxane identifying filler provides the efficacy of hyaluronic acid at the hydration level, but not volumizing (it does not leave volume or filler in the treated areas), while it has an antioxidant effect and reverses the effects of solar aging (spots, wrinkles, and flaccidity)”, says Paula Rosso.

For whom? It is suitable for both young and mature skin. At an early age, around the age of 30, it helps slow down the appearance of signs of skin aging.

“By identifying the dermis, the quality of the skin is improved, leaving it smoother and more luminous, and, in addition, it provides extra hydration to reduce expression lines,” says Paula Rosso. And when it is applied to more mature patients, from the age of 45, it is like giving the skin a second chance: “it provides hydration, vitality and a tightening effect, as well as helping to combat the signs of photoaging,” according to Dr. Vincent.

It is a low-impact treatment to rejuvenate the face, as it improves the skin without changing its appearance. ”From the first 10 days, a densification of the skin is noticeable due to the new production of collagen and elastin fibers and skin repair. This effect lasts between 6 and 9 months”, according to Dr. Rosso.

In the short term, deep hydration, a more uniform and luminous skin, and an improvement in skin quality (roughness decreases and the texture becomes smoother). And in the long term, it improves skin density, fine lines, firmness, and elasticity thanks to the production of new collagen and elastin.
