Note that the innovation removes the previously accepted restriction. So, in 2018, Google and Facebook unanimously decided to ban cryptocurrency advertising.

Companies in the cryptocurrency industry will now be able to advertise on Google if “products and ads comply with local laws and industry standards, and the account is certified by Google.”

Important! At the moment, the “green light” for cryptocurrency advertising on the Google platform is valid only in the US and Japan.

Other conditions for advertising cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets from 2021:

  • The company must be registered with FinCEN as providing money services;
  • You need to be listed as a sender of funds in at least one of the US states or be registered with a federal or state bank;
  • Advertising of Defi and ICO protocols is prohibited;
  • Advertising of Defi-related services (including crypto loans, token liquidity pools, unregulated DApps, and unsecured wallets) is prohibited.

If a crypto exchange already has Google certification, then it still needs to apply and re-certify under the new rules.
