Roles in Facebook Ads
There are 3 levels of access in the Facebook advertising account, which are called “roles” in the system:
- Administrator. Initially, this is the one who created the account. Has all rights and access. You can appoint another person as an administrator, but it is not recommended to do this (only if you do not transfer the entire advertising account to another person).
- Advertiser. It has full functionality for launching and setting up campaigns. But, unlike the administrator, he does not have access to payment methods and to adding new people.
- Analyst. The most modest access: a specialist can view reports, but does not have the ability to make any changes.
When adding people through Facebook Business Manager, access levels are optional: a specialist can be assigned the role of administrator, employee, financial analyst, and a financial editor.

How to open access to the advertising account through Facebook Business Manager
There are 2 ways to give access to the Facebook advertising account: through Ads Manager, and through Business Manager (if you use Facebook Business Suite, then the principle is the same). In both cases, the person you let into your ad space must be your friend on the social network, otherwise, the system will not suggest him in the drop-down list.
If the person you need is not “friends” with you, then send him a request to add friends from your personal FB profile (it is advisable to notify him about this additionally, some users are suspicious of profiles added to friends and ignore them).
Once you have received a notification that your application has been accepted, go to Facebook business manager. The system is in a state of constant updating, so the interfaces for different users may differ.
You need to find the “Settings” button (Page Settings, Company Settings).
In the menu that opens, look for the tab “Users” – “People” (or “Roles on the page”).
Then click Add.
And start entering data to give the user a certain level of access to the Facebook ad account.
On the business page, to add a person to the system, you need to enter his email. Specify the role he will play and choose which ad campaign you give him access to. The user will receive your invitation by e-mail and will be able to be added to the advertising account.
In addition to people, you can add other advertising cabinets to your account. This is convenient if you give access not to an individual, but to a partner company or outsourcing agency.
Access to another advertising account is provided on the “Partners” tab. Define the role of the partner and enter the ID of the required office in the corresponding field.

How to open access to the advertising account through Facebook Ads
You can access your Facebook ad account either directly link, either through the menu on the left in your personal profile or through the business manager.
Next, you need to find the “Settings” button. In the window that opens – “Setting up an ad account” – there is a menu “Roles for an ad account” with the ability to add people.
Click “Add people”, and enter the last name and first name of the desired person in the line. Specify his role in the account and confirm the action. After that, the added specialist will have the access level you selected.
