WE ARE NOT AFRAID OF ICY CONDITIONS THE TECHNIQUE OF CORRECT WALKING ON ICE (1)

When the temperature is below zero, snow has recently fallen or it has rained, which soon turned the roads into a skating rink, it is “a pleasure” to go to work in the morning. In order not to become another star on YouTube, “gracefully” falling on ice, you should follow a few rules.

Your fatal fall can result in both harmless touches of laughter from others and serious injuries. Keep your eyes open and be serious about your gait during the treacherous ice.

How to walk safely in icy conditions

  1. Never hide your hands in your pockets. You have to use them for balance. To keep your hands free, initially go out with a bag with a long strap that can be hung over your shoulder.
  2. Bend your legs slightly at the knees, lean forward slightly. At the same time, control your body so that you do not have it clamped. Go relaxed.
  3. Your steps should be small and sliding. Step on the whole foot, not the toe.
  4. Walk like a penguin!

We are not joking now. This is another of the most effective ice walking techniques to keep from falling. What is needed for this?

First, you need to transfer the entire weight of the body to one foot, then, making sure that the foot is firmly on the ice, also step with the other foot.

You slipped, what to do?

  1. Try to regain balance with your hands. If not, then at least crouch lower to ease the fall and not fly overhead.
  2. If you feel that a fall is inevitable, there is another way to soften it: push off a little to fly some distance parallel to the ice.

What to do if you fall?

  1. It would be nice to stretch all your muscles while doing this. Otherwise, the entire blow will fall on the bones.
  2. Try your best to group up. Remember, you need to pull your head into your shoulders and press your arms bent at the elbows to your body. Make every effort to turn around in flight so that you land on your side – the fall will be softer.
  3. If you fall on your back, press your chin to your chest and spread your arms out to the sides.

Don’t do it when you slip

To avoid serious injury to your wrists, do not put your hands forward and do not try to lean on them when you fall back. You will reflexively want to do just that, but you should not do it.

Try to dissipate the force of the blow. Land better on your back, because landing on the fifth point is fraught with damage to the coccyx!

What shoes to wear in ice and sleet?

Definitely, it should be a stable model of shoes without a heel, ideally with a fixed ankle and a grooved sole (grooves across, but not along).

If you have slippery boots, you should go to the master who gave you “prevention”, that is, he will add a thin layer of tenacious material.
