Shoes L’Alqueria, a First-Class Shoe Store

We present our latest work: the design of the online shoe store L’Alquería. New returns system, personalized shopping cart… We present our latest work for the online shoe store L’Alqueria. A footwear brand located in the town of tiger nuts and horchata: Alboraya, in Valencia. It is an innovative and modern shoe store with a wide variety of shoes for men, women, and children that includes MBT footwear technology, a technology applied to the sole that provides well-being and a lot of comforts when wearing this type of footwear “on foot”. As in movement, it provides a pleasant and natural effect when walking. L’Alquería asked us for help to design their web store and is very happy with the result, we wanted to share it with all of you!

We present our latest work for the online shoe store L’Alqueria. A footwear brand located in the town of tiger nuts and horchata: Alboraya, in Valencia. It is an innovative and modern shoe store with a wide variety of shoes for men, women, and children that includes MBT footwear technology, a technology applied to the sole that provides well-being and a lot of comforts when wearing this type of footwear “on foot”. As in movement, it provides a pleasant and natural effect when walking. L’Alquería asked us for help to design their web store and is very happy with the result, we wanted to share it with all of you!

#1 Unique returns system

As a novelty, this returns and exchanges controller has been developed solely and exclusively by 4webs for L’Alquería because Prestashop does not offer it. We tell you that in the case of needing to make both a return and an exchange, with this system it is very simple to carry it out:

Make a product return

In the form in the following image, you have to enter your order number. You can find this number in the confirmation email that was sent to you the day you placed the order. You insert the code and click on “Next step”, on this screen you are given the option to select the product or products that you wish to return, saving time and offering greater comfort as a customer. In the L’Alquería online store, the steps to follow to make the return are very well explained.

Make an item exchange

It also has its own form with all the detailed information. Like the return system, making a change is very simple. You insert the order number and you can select the change of size or model in this form. You just have to remember that no more than 15 calendar days can pass from when you received the order until you decide to return it and that the product must be in perfect condition, without having used it and in its original packaging.

In both cases, the lacquered online store will receive the return or exchange request and then they will contact you to carry out the return process, which usually does not take more than 4 working hours.

#2 Personalized shopping cart

We have also modified the standard Prestashop shopping cart and we have customized it by leaving a screen that covers the 3 steps necessary to continue with the purchase process instead of clicking on different screens. At a glance, you will be able to see all the products selected and added to your shopping carts such as the shipping date, shipping methods, and payment methods that you must select.

If you are already registered, in the first step “Shipping information” you would already have your delivery and billing address that you added when registering the first time, so you go to the second step “Shipping methods”. L’Alqueria online offers up to five different payment methods.

#3 Integration with District K module

District K is a module developed by 4webs that downloads an XML file from a path or location, for example from the FTP server where we have that XML file with all the information about the products of the online store. It is used to synchronize existing or new articles.

It does it automatically through a previously configured cron task, for example, we have determined the tasks “Automatic download of the XML file” and “Automatic synchronization”. If we have set this task to run every 4 hours, then every 4 hours the articles will be updated.

Category Mapping

Within the District K module, in the “Category Mapping” tab, all the categories of the XML file are collected. If you have previously linked the district K categories to the Prestashop categories then they are automatically linked when you add a product in Prestashop. If not, then it will be added to the category by default.

#4 Product page

On the product page, from the size selection drop-down filter, you can select your size but in the event that the item you are looking for is out of stock, you have the option of receiving an alert in your email when the product is available again. If you are logged into your account, this process will be done automatically by clicking on the button “Out of stock – Be informed”.

#5 Shipping time and cost per product

In the list of products of the different categories, for example, «Women’s shoes», the message «Delivery in 24 hours» appears on each product. Well, depending on the warehouse where the product is located and the distance, date (if there are holidays or it’s a weekend).

The client who has several warehouses (in the back office of Prestashop they are represented by numbers) can configure through the Time and Cost module the maximum shipping time, the delivery timewhether or not it closes on Saturday, and define a table of holidays so that when counting the time and the day that the order will be delivered, take into account the holidays. In the store it is represented as “Stock available: Buy it before x hours and receive it x day”.

#6 Exclusive design

The basis of the design is based on a clean, clear, and structured conception of the information. The products are displayed in an orderly manner. The use of white and neutral colors predominates, accentuating and highlighting, above all, the display of the product itself and the corporate colors, used in elements that call for action or highlight points of interest for the customer (purchase buttons, discount labels, steps to follow, etc.).

The integration of textures and the use of icons and images favor a more visual and intuitive appearance, creating a simpler and clearer interaction with the user and, above all, making them feel safe in each of the actions they are performing. We note that when you hover your mouse over products that are available in multiple colors, thumbnails of the various options appear.

For example, the integration of unboxing videos within the product file is an undoubted claim, since the customer has absolutely real visual data of the product they are interested in purchasing, facilitating their security and confidence in online shopping.
